Schmierleberwurst is the soft, spreadable German liverwurst — a smooth pork liver spread with the texture of a pâtâ and none of the firmness of a sliceable link. Made from pork liver, pork and onion with a gentle seasoning, it arrives fully cooked and ready to eat straight from the tub onto bread.

Pork liver, pork, pork fat, salt, onion, cultured celery powder, sea salt, seasoning (dextrose, spices, salt, flavorings, spice extractive, onion powder, celery powder),
Spread it generously over a thick slice of fresh German rye bread or crusty sourdough, then top with thinly sliced red onion, fresh chives or cornichons to cut the richness. It also works as a pâté on a Brotzeit board, or stirred into a pan sauce to thicken and enrich it. Serve at cool room temperature rather than fridge-cold — the flavour opens up considerably.
