German Weisswurst, the Bavarian White Sausage

Weisswurst is the Bavarian white sausage — finely minced veal and pork seasoned with parsley, lemon zest, mace and cardamom, filled into a pale natural casing. It carries no preservatives, nitrates or artificial colouring. Ours is made to a traditional Bavarian recipe in the USA and ships cold in an insulated box with ice packs.

Never grill or boil Weisswurst. Simmer the links in hot, not boiling, salted water for 10–12 minutes so the delicate casing does not split, then serve them in the cooking water with sweet Bavarian mustard. In Munich it is traditionally eaten before noon. Browse the rest of our German sausages.
